La serie de esculturas Nopalia actúa como un conjunto de formas mágicas que pretende hacer de conector entre los espíritus de la Naturaleza y el ser humano. Nicolás Laiz Placeres usa formas tomadas del mundo natural y las recompone a través de procesos de clonación repetidos una y otra vez y así compone nuevas estructuras que funcionan como híbridos culturales que se mueven entre la baja y alta cultura, entre el mundo natural y el prefabricado por el ser humano, el mundo físico y el mundo de los espíritus.

The Nopalia series of sculptures acts as a set of magical forms that aims to act as a connector between the spirits of Nature and the human being. Nicolás Laiz Placeres uses forms taken from the natural world and recomposes them through cloning processes repeated over and over again and thus composes new structures that function as cultural hybrids that move between low and high culture, between the natural world and the manufactured one, the physical world and the world of the spirits.
